The Girl Who Played with Fire 2009

Late one evening, a journalist and his girlfriend were shot to death in their apartment—two people who had been investigating the trafficking routes used to bring sex slaves from Eastern Europe to Sweden. Representatives of government agencies have been spotted among the clients of this unsavory business. It seems obvious which circles stood to gain from the deaths of these two. Mikael Blomkvist launches his own investigation into the deaths of his colleagues and friends and suddenly learns that his longtime acquaintance, Lisbeth Salander—the strangest girl in the world, prone to playing with fire—is suspected of the murder; for example, dousing it with gasoline. A manhunt for the “psychopathic killer” is underway throughout Sweden, but Lisbeth isn’t afraid to take on anyone—the mafia, the establishment, or even death itself.
