Three modern young women from New Delhi’s business district meet three guys at a rock concert. An invitation to go out for dinner together ends very badly—with an attempted rape and a bottle smashed over the head of one of the attackers. The next morning, it suddenly comes to light that the victim has filed a police report, and one of the women now faces a prison sentence for attempted murder. The girls try to explain that they are the victims in this story, but no one wants to listen to them. If you went out at night with strangers to drink wine—it’s your own fault, you clueless piece of trash. That’s how both the police and the court see it. Men and women alike. The only one on the heroines’ side is an old lawyer, Dipak Sehgal, who gave up his practice long ago due to mental health issues.
