“Human” (2015) is a large-scale documentary by French director and photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
Over the course of three years, the film crew interviewed more than 2,000 people in 60 countries around the world. People of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds look directly into the camera against a simple black background and answer the same questions with utmost honesty—questions about life, love, family, poverty, war, happiness, and forgiveness. The film features no voice-over, names, or country labels, allowing viewers to focus exclusively on the people’s stories. These personal revelations are interwoven with incredibly beautiful, mesmerizing aerial shots of the planet.
This is a profound and emotional cinematic exploration of what truly makes us human.
