It is World War II, and France is occupied by the Nazis. Harry Morgan lives on the island of Martinique; he owns a boat that he uses to take wealthy clients out fishing. Gérard, a member of the Resistance, approaches Morgan with a request to secretly transport one of the movement’s leaders to Martinique. Morgan, who couldn’t care less about politics, refuses. But when Marie asks him to help her escape the island, he agrees to take on Gérard’s deadly mission.
