The Jerk 1979

Upon learning that he is an adopted son, Navin abandons his adoptive Black parents and sets off for St. Louis in search of the meaning of life. At first, the big city doesn’t welcome the newcomer, and Navin has to work hard to prove his worth. He doesn’t have to struggle for long, though—as they say, fools’ luck—and all of a sudden, wealth, fame, and glory come pouring down on this small-town boy all at once. But now he’ll have to figure out what to do with all this sudden good fortune...
